Blog of a veggie lady who can't stay in one place for too long, loves to dumpster dive, loves to craft and can rant about feminism for hours! Just little notes and photos from my travels and the qwirky, fun, arty and ridiculous things I've seen! (and things I've found in bins.)
Yesterday me and Elisa went to Manchester for the Manchester Gallery’s fantastic papercut exhibition, and amazing never-ending tea, pie and fabulous desserts at teacup, good day!
The Great Storm Cat by Nicola Bayley (from The Mousehole Cat by Antonia Barber and Nicolar Bayley)
Now I’m watching my second obscure Christmas film, The Mousehole Cat. This is not a great animation, but I still think it’s charming, it reminds me of being a kid, is beautifully narrated and the original illustrations are just stunning. I want to go to Cornwall now.
I use lots of maps in my crafting, they’re great for everything! Origami, collage, book covers, artwork, maps are great!
I’m super broke right now so I’m having to sell of all my maps on ebay. If anyone wants some please bid! They’ll all be super cheap and if you want I’ll post you some fun craft ideas too!
Started putting an exhibition together for The Lawrence Batley Theatre “Luddities in Kirklees” exhibition. I’m finishing it off tomorrow! It’s such a gorgeous space!
Kirkgate is the oldest street in Leeds and also one of the grottiest! At the moment people are trying to rejuvenate it. Here’s a guy doing some amazing spray paint art.
Hey! I’ve entered some of my Hudd based work into Pink Pigs sketchbook cover competition! (Pink Pig’s Hudd based so felt it was appropriate =] ) Vote for me pleaaase! Pretty soon I’m gonna be pretty broke and £300 could really help me keep my head above water for a while and help me keep being able to do arty stuff!
Lizz Lunney sent me comics!
They’re amazing!
I want to keep them all!
But I can’t, as I’m selling them at Wannabe next Thursday!
Wannabe is an exhibition run by my art collective Project: BABE. Featuring the work of lots of different female artists at The Venue in The Parish, Huddersfield. There’ll also be an amazing launch night with 4 female music acts and stalls.
So if you want to see/buy these amazing comics, you better come along, right?! :D
