Blog of a veggie lady who can't stay in one place for too long, loves to dumpster dive, loves to craft and can rant about feminism for hours! Just little notes and photos from my travels and the qwirky, fun, arty and ridiculous things I've seen! (and things I've found in bins.)

Day 22: I found a load of photos I thought I’d lost, including this photo of be and Sannah on a snowy day drinking mulled wine in Besancon!

Talking to Finnish Kim about England.  It’s nice hearing someone getting excited about the UK!  I think Finnish Kim is coming to visit over the Summer and I’m excited to show him places and argue with him more about who is more eco-friendly.
(It’s probably him.)

I also found these photos, which weirdly were taken a year ago today.  Finland was full on in Spring, it was beautiful sunshine and we were biking everywhere and the lakes were melting and we went out foraging for food, and there was still mountains of snow everywhere!

While I was looking through me and Mateja’s wall posts for Lollabrigida I found some awesome pictures, look at us, with reindeer!  These pictures make me happy =]  The few weeks before I left Finland a lot of stuff went all kinds of wrong and I was pretty happy I was leaving, and now I’m starting to remember just how much fun Finland actually was and appreciating it again.  Generally, it’s rare that I miss people, I think that bit of my brain doesn’t really work, but today I miss my friends from Finland, so today I’m emailing them all to say hi =]

All the wool I had in Finland that had to be left to a second hand shop, SAD TIMES.

And then I had to leave!  Sell my things in the second hand shop, make a pile of all the spools I’ve gathered, Steph organised all my things and I packed them up!  Then my last night was pretty dramatic and crazy, so we went swimming in the lake at 3am.  And had White Russian Sunday’s the next morning!

Underneath Kuopio Design Academy there’s a whole different world!  There’s a basement full of old discarded sewing machines, mannequins, old furs, wardrobes full of old sample books, bits of fabric, furniture and old hockey jerseys!  The girls in my group took me through there and I was completely taken aback!

So, then we went to St Petersburg!!!  Even on the boat over there were Russian dancers, and the first shop we got in gave us FREE SHOTS OF VODKA.  Only in Russia!  Even the stamps have bears on and everything is coated in gold and grand and gorgeous!  We were pretty amused by the Russian language and crazy letters!  We went to the only veggie restaurant in St Petersburg and had amazing borshe!  We met some awesome German girls too!

We took the finished products round the the clients house.  She was so excited about them!  It was really exciting seeing them in context, and I think they look fantastic!
