Blog of a veggie lady who can't stay in one place for too long, loves to dumpster dive, loves to craft and can rant about feminism for hours! Just little notes and photos from my travels and the qwirky, fun, arty and ridiculous things I've seen! (and things I've found in bins.)

Holly’s life makes me green with envy!

Holly’s life makes me green with envy!

I’m working at Bird’s Yard today, normally I love working at Bird’s Yard, but today it is painfully dull.  I’m sat in the upstairs room that’s REALLY unorganised and confused me lots when I first came in, it’s not a busy day, the internet is slow and there’s very little lighting and it keeps making me sleepy.
But on the plus side, I went to the Leeds Annual Artists Book Fair earlier.  I love it, I’ve been maybe 3 times now, and it’s full of book arts, zines and amazing binding skills! Look at all the pretty zines I got!  I’ve now got tonnes of inspiration.  I saw my old tutors from when I was at Leeds, which is always nice!  Also talked to some people from the West Yorkshire Printing Studios about possibly doing some work experience there.  And I finally picked up my copy of embroidery magazine that features Holly Levell, how exciting!

I then went up to Huddersfield for a few days to see the Degree Show, and to catch up with people.  it was so nice to be back, Huddersfield just seems so homely now!  Everyones work was looking amazing and it was lovely to see everyone again.

I loved Rebekah Startin’s knitted clothing, it was just gorgeous and such lovely colours!

I always love Holly Levell’s work, but her degree show work was so unique, vibrant and skillfull.

Similarly, I always love Cat Bolton’s children’s illustrations, and seeing it put into a book was fantastic.
