Blog of a veggie lady who can't stay in one place for too long, loves to dumpster dive, loves to craft and can rant about feminism for hours! Just little notes and photos from my travels and the qwirky, fun, arty and ridiculous things I've seen! (and things I've found in bins.)
On Wednesday 10th October there will be an AWESOME gig at Wharf Chambers in Leeds.
I DREW THIS and then I coloured it in on MS Paint because I just can’t do Photoshop/scary image manipulator programmes.
YOU SHOULD COME! The Shondes are queerios from BROOKLYN! Wowee! Then there’s Louise…
I really want to go to this show so I think I will and I am really stoked about it.
People kept inviting me to The Shondes London show and I was so gutted I couldn’t go, but they’re in Leeds and now I am very happy!
I spent a lot of today thinking of what my roller derby name would be.
Because now I kind of really want to join even though I can’t skate at all!
They’re all bad puns, so far the list is:
Kathleen Hammer
Kathleen Slamma (sadly, turns out someone I know already has this as a derby name, boo.)
Anvil Lavigne
K.O Ono
Karen K.O
Kate Push
Hermoine Danger
Slammander Palmer
Slammanda Face-Palmer
Kate Smash
JD Slamsome
Slayer-Kinney
Germaine Fear
Joan Jett-Out-Of-The-Way-I’m-Skating-Here
Tina Slay
Michelle O’Slamma
Lucille Ballbuster
Toby Wail/Impale
Joanna Nuisance
And not mine, but Charlotte’s chosen one: Courtney Shove!
And Alex’s fbaulous contribution: Florence Fightingale!
I’m gonna spend my evening coming up with more :D
Last night was fuuuun =] It was the launch of the 2nd Girlzone zine at Coffee Evs. One of the performers didn’t show up without any notice or explanation, a lot of us are super stressed at the mo, derogatory words were thrown about (by which I mean one, and by which I mean slut, and at a feminist zine launch C’MON!) and all things considered I think it went remarkably well! It was chilled and I think it was just the right amount of people that it wasn’t cramped and was a pretty good vibe. Vicky played her first proper gig and was pretty damn awesome!
And the zine is looking bitching, like seriously, fabulous! If anyone wants to buy a copy it’ll be up here soon! The theme for this one is sleepovers. The next one’s going to be out in Sept and is going to be fairly broad and about feminism in general, so if anyone wants to contribute let me know! I’m super excited for the next one, I already have ideas for it and am excited that at that point I won’t be in uni and can just focus on this kind of thing more. It’s great to have this kind of support network of like minded people, I’m pretty stoked about it :D
It was just nice to have a night off from uni work, be around fabulous people and have a laugh :D
