Blog of a veggie lady who can't stay in one place for too long, loves to dumpster dive, loves to craft and can rant about feminism for hours! Just little notes and photos from my travels and the qwirky, fun, arty and ridiculous things I've seen! (and things I've found in bins.)

Some pictures from the degree show opening.  It went so well =]  I had so much wine it was ridiculous.  Lovely people came and it was a real nice end to 4 years of stress!

Today the exhibition started going up and I spent a lot of the day rearranging things with my 2nd year helper (who is an absolute star) and finishing off files.

Its all scary, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel now and I’m excited about seeing everyones work up, finishing up and finally leaving student life behind after clinging on to it for a long time and loving it, but now I’m ready for something new.

9am today we started putting the show up!

We’ve been sent away now until 1 while the tutors move things around and properly curate the space.  Here’s some initial shots of people putting things together.

The show is going up!  Scary times!

Dear internet!

I have to pick 2 images for my postcards for the degree show, and I can’t decide, HELP!

First 2 pictures credit to Andrew F photography.

What I was doing yesterday!

Another idea for the photoshoot: getting a chest of drawers and having a world hidden inside them and clouds hanging above.  Sadly I’d have to buy some drawers.

The Bake Sale and Raffle is going on NOW in the Student Union at Huddersfield Uni.  If you’re about go support us raise funds for the degree show!

Last night I baked a whole heap of cakes!  these aren’t the results, I didn’t photo mine, they were awful.

Last week we had a 2 day workshop with John Miles.  At first I thought it was a massive waste of time but it really kicked me up the arse and got me working!  The stuff people came out with after 2 days was really interesting.  It was all about looking at things differently and creatively and turning things upside down.  My group cut up photos of peoples work and random imagery and asked people to put them together to make something new, free and interesting.  The things people did were great!  Some people made giant origami things, one group asked us to draw whatever inspired us, another cut up pictures of peoples work and gave them out as puzzles with a prize for who finished theirs first and another created a board game to make art by.  Mad stuff!

Dear lovely followers!

After 6 years of procrastination, course changes and years abroad I am finally graduating from uni!

Of course, every degree in art and design ends in a degree show, and so this Summer I’ll be in a degree show!  We’re doing a lot to promote it and raise money for it, having band nights, craft fairs, bake sales, pre-show exhibitions and various other fun and froliks!

And of course a great way to promote things is tumblr, and being a massive tumblr nerd I’m doing the blog!  I’d appreciate it if you’d follow it and support us.  We’re 21 hardworking textile crafty girls, all producing exciting new things!

These gorgeous bird pieces are by Sophie Fodden and the shadow boxes are possibly Alice Screaton’s… I’m not sure!

The earthy knitwear is Cicely Chilvers, I love how she’s put so much effort into making her display have a real impact!
