Day 44: Babes and pizza at Street Spirit, Bar 1:22 (Huddersfield)! Also it was Galentines day! HAPPY GALENTINES DAY!
Day 43: Tea & Tarts WI zine workshop! Luckily the lovely ladies that came to this at this didn’t attack each other, unlike the workshop from the day before!
Day 32: Me and Rob were both working on zines! His is a foody one called MANCHEDDER and mine is a crafty cutesy one called Narwool Zine! I should really get back to sorting out Narwool. I’m open for crafty submissions if anyone wants to send me anything!
Yesterday me and some of the babes went to the Manchester Art Gallery for a zine fair. We also used this to launch our 3rd zine, Becoming Part I! I have to say, it’s looking pretty slick! There’s been so many great submissions! There’s so many exciting things on the horizon for Project:BABE and I’m looking forward to it!
I also got some other amazing other zines, such as Sugar Paper, a stunning teen magazine themed issue!
Hey! My friend Charlotte has this feminist art collective called Project:BABE, and they do a zine called GirlZone. She’s basically asked me to curate the third issue and have it be all about male feminists and stuff. We’re gonna call it Mankini Kill, after an injoke about a tibute band that I wish…
The irony that I joined a feminist collective and that 2 issues later my boyfriend has taken over an issue about male feminism with all male identifying contributors and telling me that I can’t put something in, is not at all wasted on me.
Subversive patriarchy wins again!
Also the irony that I tend to do the majority of the washing and cleaning in the flat and that Rob once threw me into a wardrobe because HE CLEARLY HATES WOMEN!
But like, people should contribute anyways, it’ll probably be pretty awesome.

Loads of art, zines and stalls from awesome female artists as well as a band that kind of sound like Sleater-Kinney crossed with Best Coast, in a good way. I’m stoked to see them.
